Product Introduction:

AF488 is a bright green fluorescent dye that is commonly used in microscopy and cell analysis due to its photostability. AF488 can be used with DAPI and is well suited for multiplex detection. This high quantum yield dye has fluorescence stability in the pH range of 4 to 10.

Chemically, AF488 is a sulfonated rhodamine dye, rhodamine 110 (R110). Similar to other rhodamines, it is available as 5- and 6-isomers with almost identical photophysical properties. However, the isomers need to be separated—otherwise, the use of mixed isomer dyes may result in double peaks during HPLC or electrophoretic separation of the labeled product. This product is isomerically pure 5-AF488.

This NHS ester is an amine-reactive dye that can label amine groups in proteins, peptides, amino-modified oligomers, and other target molecules.

Purity: ≥95%

Storage conditions: protected from light, dry, stored at -20°C
